Barbara Zupančič is a psychologist with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of equal opportunities, discrimination prevention, and the inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Throughout her professional career, she has focused primarily on working with people who face barriers to employment and social inclusion. As Director of Diversity Charter Slovenia, she promoted respect for diversity and the creation of inclusive workplaces.

On 15 July 2026, the Slovenian National Assembly appointed her as the new Advocate of the Principle of Equality. She took office for a five-year term on 26 October 2026.
